Easter 2006

The Easter Bunny aka Memomma was VERY good to the kids! He brought all three of them a wonderful basket full of goodies! Maggie was the first to wake up and find the beautiful baskets!
Somehow we all five managed to get up and go to church Easter Sunday! The kids, all three, were absolutly beautiful in their Easter bests!

Egg Hunt

Carter and Maggie had sooo much fun at there church egg hunt! They both found plenty off eggs! Jada went along too! Me and her sat under the tree and watched as all the kids scrambled across the church lawn. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday so I will post our Easter outfit pictures tomorrow!
Jada finally opened her eyes long enough for a picture at her Memomma's house so I have posted that picture as well!

Baby Jada has arrived!!

She is here!! Jada Louise was born April 13, 2006 at 5:17 pm. She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and is 18 1/2 inches long. She looks a lot like Carter when he was born. She has just a little bit of hair- it is VERY dark! And so far her eyes are dark blue.
The Birth Story:
We started the morning off at 6:00 am. We checked in and they started the pitocin drip about 7:30. Dr. Lofter's came and broke the water at about 8:30. I had small contractions all morning long. I got an epidural at about 1:30 and by 4:00 it was no longer working. I was fully dialated at 5:00 pm and after about 4 or 5 contractions I was able to push Jada out with no pain medicane. I DID NOT want to experience "NATURAL CHILDBIRTH" but unfortunatly I did!! She did very well as did I. We were able to leave the hospital after 24 hours due to a crowded hospital and I was just ready to come home and be with my family!! All is well so far and Amy should be able to go home tomorrow with our little Nate. She is still having a lot of pain- but she is a VERY strong girl (as we all remember)! I will try to post some more pic's after easter! Enjoy these for now. (That is Nate on the right with Jada on the left in the first pic).

Callaway Gardens

We took the kids to Callaway yesterday! It was probably our last outing as a family of four! The kids had a BALL! They did everything! They visted the Callaway Center, saw the butterflies, went all through the horticultral center and even scoped out all the gift shops! We took some really cute pictures too! I was trying to allow Carter to have at least one fun day on his first ever "Spring Break"! I think he was pleased! Although- I can't wait until his break is over!! :)

The Latest Family News:

She finally has a name!! And the winner is: Jada Louise
After much debate, we finally decided on the name Jada Loiuse for our newest addition! And just in time- Jada will have a little help coming into the world on Thu. April 13, 2006 when my Dr. has scheduled an induction. Last week (March 29) she weighed right at 7 pounds, so she will probably be about the same size as Maggie at delivery (which was 8'2). Other Hawkins baby updates... Amy (Kevin's sister) who is due on the 10th of April has had a C-section scheduled for April 12 at 1:00! This is due to the fact that he weighed 9 pounds and 14 ounces today at the ultrasound appt!! Although we won't get to be there to help each other through delivery, ect. it will be fun for Kevin to run back and forth between his new little princess and his first and only nephew! As for the Carter and Maggie update- it took a while, but they both decided NOT to call the baby Catwoman and have equally agreed that Jada will be an okay name for their new sissy! I can't wait for them to meet her- it will definatly be a fun experience. Carter is on Spring Break this week, so we will be going to Callaway Gardens tomorrow for a day trip. I guess that's all the latest news for today!
