Halloween, Hawkins Style

This Halloween seemed to bring a multitude of events! We had quite a list of activities this year. We started the festivities with a wonderful costume party! The party was awesome! Our friends really outdid themselves with the decorations, food and projection movie of Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin in their backyard! We all dressed up and had a wonderful time! Our friends who hosted the party were dressed as the cutest Gnome Family you have ever seen! And I ended up as Sandy from Grease.

Movie on the lawn!

Jada the candy corn, Maggie the monster and Oliver the littlest gnome (minus his hat)!

Just a small sample of all the wonderful goodies!

Carter the Zombie, Manny was Spiderman, JJ as Captain America and Owen as a gnome!

Everyone decorated pumpkins to start the night!

Sandy holding her little owl :)

We celebrated Halloween again the next weekend at the Concord Baptist Church. They always have the most spectacular Trunk-or-Treat, Dinner, Hayrides and Games! We have made it a tradition to visit there festivities since we moved to Concord. The amount of candy the kids get from the trunk-or-treat there is insane... to say the least. Don't believe me? Just look at the pics!

As depressed as everyone looks, they were actually enjoying their hotdogs!

Jada and the ducks she won!

Waiting in line for Trunk-or-Treat!

She stopped for about .3 seconds, so I quickly got a pic!

Checking out the loot!

Just laying around..

As if that is not enough, we still had more events! We participated in the Trick-or-Treat on the Zebulon square. The kids dressed up and visited the local stores for candy, then Carter and Maggie went through the scary Haunted Trail at the Chandler Building. They loved it! The Arts Council did a great job with the trail! Afterwards, we got the "big one" from American Pie, and pigged out at our house!

Getting ready to start.

At the bookstore getting treats!

The Chick-fil-A cows made an appearance!

The fire department dropped candy from the top of the fire truck ladder!

What would Halloween be like if we didn't carve pumpkins! We spent last Saturday carving our pumpkins for several hours! The kids like to do there own, so we buy each of them a pumpkin and allow them to create whatever they would like! Each pumpkin turned out beautiful! They were all so proud!

Everyone hard at work!

Finished!

Everyone was so proud of their pumpkin!

And as Halloween 2012 came to an end Wednesday night, we got dressed up one last time. This, afterall, is the part they look forward to the most! They love to go knock on doors and say trick or treat. They love the cool night air. They love running down the driveways and across yards free and happy! And they love it that we get to be together for the night as a family! Enjoying a holiday just for them.

Ready for the night!

First house was a score!

Carter managed some candy too!

Trick-or-Treat

She had to be contained in the van after the second house... she was a little TOO wild.

The whole motley crew!

MO! MO? Come on and play with me!

 The ultimate candy stash

We are so blessed to live in such a wonderful small town, where we can still go trick or treat, and have so many great activities for the kids to participate in! I can't wait for next year!
