Resolution Run 2016

Every year for the last 4 years I have been on a mission to complete a race at least once a month. That is 48 months straight of racing! I have blogged each and every one of my races here: 2013 2014 2015  . It started out as a new years resolution to complete one race a month and keep me active and always running. It has turned into my favorite thing to do! I ran a few of the same races I always do, and some new ones too. I still have a tough mudder on my radar for next year and I have also registered for a 50k Trail run in Virginia that will be the hardest race I have ever competed in. That's 31 miles on the Appalachian Trail if you don't feel like converting. I am also registered for the Publix full marathon in Atlanta, which will be a first. I have never ran 26.2 miles on Atlanta hills! So I am really looking forward to this next year of racing! But, back to 2016... I completed 16 races and accomplished over 1000 miles of running. Things were a little harder this year with Hooper. He nurses full time and doesn't like to be separated very much from his Mommy. Most of my runs, I push Hooper. There are quite a few races that don't allow strollers though. So at those races I had to pump, which isn't always very easy as most nursing moms know! And of course, I have to give my shout outs to my running peeps: Stacy Morris, Denise Lawrence, Stacey Ferguson, Tiffany Cook and Jessica Lister! Could not of done it without you guys! And of course, each and every race and mile is for my buddy Erica! IRun4Erica! Read about my buddy HERE!

AUGUST: Chairman Turner Fitness 5K. I had a race planned in Clayton County for August. I wasn't exactly sure about this race, because the website gave very little details. But I got up early and drove to it anyways. After about 30 mins, I discovered this race wasn't legit. So I headed back home and googled as fast as possible to find another race. As I approached downtown Jonesboro, I saw a sign that said 5K This Way! Well, believe it or not, I followed the signs, got parked and registered and made it in time to the start line to complete this race! It was so funny how that race happened!

The only picture I got at Sunrise on the Square, and I was missing Tiffany!

DECEMBER: The Pine Mountain Trail Mini Ultra. I love the Pine Mountain Trail, I have spent many hours hiking there! So at the last minute, Jessica talked me into this one. It was 19 miles and all trail. I was really excited to attempt this. I had never done this much on trail before. Until about 3 days before when I realized it was gonna be 40 degrees and pour rain the whole race. But I stuck it out and made it through! I was proud of my accomplishment on this trail race.

I am also proud of my running year and what amazing things I have done. I completed another year of 1000 mile running and had my friends there with me to help celebrate that last mile! My sister even brought me a cookie cake afterwards! What a great year, can't wait to see what 2017 holds!
