Panama City and Shell Island

As soon as school was out, my sister and I took the kids on a quick little trip to Panama City Beach. We found the cheapest hotel we could find right on the beach and headed on down. We stayed at the Boardwalk Beach Resort. They have futon bunk beds in the rooms and sleep 6, which was great for me because we needed the space! We got rooms side by side with my sister and nephews. Our friend the Woods came along too. They stayed in the condo's right next door. Carter and Maggie loved having their friends right next door. The hotel rates were cheap and we got a special , book 3 nights get 1 free. Even better!

The first night we got settled and went to the beach for a minute and then to the pool.  We met up with our friends and went to dinner at a Cajun seafood restaurant called Dee's Hangout. The food was great. I got shrimp and grits!

Denise and the boys came in later that night. The next day we spent the whole day on the beach. The water was perfect! No seaweed and clear as the Caribbean! We had such a wonderful day on the beach! The girls rented a paddle board and we all had a good time attempting to ride it. My best friend Nicole even made it over to hang out with us for a couple of days! We ended with dinner this night at Pinapple Willie's. One of our favorite spots!

We started off our 3rd day with a trip to Shell Island. This was by far the most amazing day and we had the MOST fun ever! We rented a pontoon boat for the day. It was easy to drive and held all of us.  We left from the bay and made our way out to Shell Island. We anchored in a little cove for hours and swam and walked around the Island. We brought our coolers and had a picnic lunch on the boat. After lunch the ice cream boat came by and we all got ice creams! We had to have the boat back by 4, so  we cruised around some more and threw the anchor down in a couple of other places to swim before we headed back. We were all starving, so we ate dinner at Harpoon Harry's. The girls shared a big bucket of crab legs and me and Carter had seafood platters. It was delicious!

Our next to last day, the water got rough and storm was brewing. We were all sun scorched and exhausted anyways, so we slept in and then went shopping at Pier Park and Alvin's Island and enjoyed the pool. We ate Zaxby's for dinner and then had Marble Slab for dessert!

We headed back home on Day 5. We had such a wonderful time, I don't think we could ever beat that trip in the awesome factor!
