What a crazy March we have had! I feel like we have had no down time. We have been busy all month! Kevin was gone for a week to Vegas, soccer, the play, Easter, a visit from my best friend... the list goes on! Here is a little summary of our March Madness:
Soccer games started for Maggie a couple of weeks ago. They are 3 and 2 so far. She spends almost all her free time practicing. She plays soccer every day of the week but Fridays. She is amazing!
Jada has been super busy with the school play, The Wizard of Oz. Practices were just about everyday after school this month! She did a great job!
Hooper is 4.5 months old now. He is already so busy and active! He is very interessted in food already (even though I don't want him to be!) so we are starting to introduce some food and try baby led weaning! He is really enjoying it. Hooper also got to go to the Courthouse this month and apply for his first passport! He is going to the Virgin Islands in May with Kevin and I. My amazing husband worked his butt off and won another trip for us! (He won a trip to Bermuda for us a few years ago) And since Hooper is still little and nursing, he gets to go too!
I had 2 races this month. The Publix Half Marathon and Jogging for Jude 5K. These are both great races that I really enjoy! This is the 4th year I have ran the Publix. It is by far one of my favorite races. From the beautiful Atlanta scenery, to the weather and the after race extras- I love it all! Last year I ran this race 8 weeks pregnant and I thought I was have a miscarriage. I woke at 5 am that morning with all the symptoms. I was so upset. I didn't know what to do. Should I lay there and be sad? Should I run the race? I weighed out everything in my head and decided I would rather be running than thinking about losing the sweet little baby we had been trying so hard for. So I ran. I ran all 13.1 miles. I assumed that if I was indeed having a miscarriage, it was going to happen whether I ran or not. Obviously the Lord the blessed us with that sweet little baby boy! Fast forward to this year, and I couldn't help but remember the year before and how thankful I was to have little Hooper now. I ran the race this year with a friend (I actually used to babysit her when she was little!) named Jessica. We stayed together for over half the race. I spent the night in Atlanta the night before, like I usually do and this year brought the whole family. Since I am still Hooper's food supply, he has to go where I go. So we had a nice little family outing in Atlanta and stayed at the Marriott Marquise, which the kids have now dubbed their favorite hotel in Atlanta. My sweet husband stayed at the hotel with all the kids while I got up early and ran. I am so blessed to have such a supportive husband. Here are a few pictures from our night in Atlanta and my 4th Publix race.
The day after the Publix was Jogging for Jude. This is a special 5K that benefits Down Syndrome as well as one of our friends little boy who has Down Syndrome. I love running races that benefit a good cause, especially when its a friend! A lot of my Pike County Moms Run This Town group came out for the race! Maggie had soccer practice, but the rest of us ran it. Carter came in 3rd place for males age 10 to 20 and I came in 1st for my age in 28:30 and second place overall in the stroller category. Here are some pics from the race:
Kennedy had a wonderful egg hunt and little Easter party at her school the Thursday before Easter. The kids were out Good Friday. Hooper and I went to the school for the Easter festivities! She is always so very proud to show off "her baby". She begs me to bring him to every event so everyone can see him. She loves her little brother! Here are the pics from the party and egg hunt:
My best friend came for a visit the last weekend in March. We had a great time catching up and hanging out. We also had a fun flashlight egg hunt!
The night before Easter we dyed a few eggs at my sisters house.
Easter Sunday, we went to church. Following our service we ate lunch at my mom and dad's house with the rest of our family. Since it was wet and rainy, we played an indoor Hungry Hungry Hippo game to get eggs! It was quite the scene. We all had a great time playing though. And our lunch was delicious! The kids all opened there baskets from Mema. We had not taken any extended family photos with Hooper, so we took a little extra time to get some while everyone was in their Sunday best. The pics turned out great. And got a little crazy too.. I will let you see those for yourself:
